2006 Siberian Health Survey
The Siberian Husky Health Survey is finished.  The first-ever statistically significant survey of the health of our breed was a large undertaking, and we would like to thank Dr. Margaret Slater and her team for the time and diligent efforts, Jeanette DiBalsi for coordinating the blind mailings, and everyone who took the time to fill out and return the survey.

Results of the 2005/2006 Siberian Husky Health Survey are in. Click here to go to the results page.

Book Review
"Grizz's Story - A Greater Courage" written by Jo Helms
This is a true story about a Siberian Husky whom was diagnosed with a soft tissue malignant tumor called a spindle cell carcinoma. The beloved Siberian was 10 years old when the tumor was discovered on a routine veterinary exam. The book describes the the events that preceeded and followed the diagnosis including surgery, amputation of a limb, and chemotherapy. The book is unique in that the story is told by the dog's point of view. This book is an inspiring story and should be read by all pet owners that have an older pet or an animal that has been diagnosed with cancer. The medical and emotional decisions made in this book are the same issues that most pet owners face when their pet is diagnosed with a tumor. I highly recommend this book as an emotional support to any pet owner. It is a wonderful example of the depth of the emotional and spiritual bond between pets and their owners.

Cost of the book is $14.95 plus $3.95 S/H. Email: cheesedawg@earthlink.net
